As the clock ticks towards the Osun governorship election day slated for July 16, the lawmaker representing Oṣogbo Federal Constituency, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo, has visited major stakeholders in his territory to canvass support for Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.
The Osun federal parliamentarian, who was accompanied by his aides and supporters, met with traditional rulers, political leaders and front-line members of sociocultural groups in Orolu and Irepodun as part of efforts to ensure Governor Oyetola emerges victorious in the forthcoming poll. The tour took place on Friday, June 24, 2022.
Among notable groups and individuals visited by Rep Oyewo included the Orolu-In-Council, Ifon Progressive Union among others.
The lawmaker and his entourage were warmly welcomed by members of the Orolu-In-Council led by High Chief Tunde Oyetunji, who is the Eesa of Ifon-Orolu Kingdom.
While addressing traditional leaders and influential personalities present at the gathering, Rep Olubukola Oyewo emphasized that Governor Adegboyega Oyetola has performed creditably well and therefore deserves another term in office. He called on all eligible voters in Ifon, Erin, Ilobu and environs to come out en-mass on the election day to support the All Progressives Congress (APC)and its candidate.
"Permit me to use this auspicious occasion to seek your support for my political party, APC and its candidate, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola in the July 16 gubernatorial election. I implore all distinguished personalities present here today to work for the success of our performing Governor. The people of Ifon-Orolu Kingdom have a lot to benefit when the governor is eventually returned to serve for another four years, " Hon. Olubukola Oyewo assured.
The Ifon-born politician further noted that Oyetola's scorecard in his first term in office, especially in the area of governance, infrastructure development, poverty alleviation, welfare of civil servants and pensioners, poverty alleviation, health care and lots more has further demonstrated that he is committed to delivering his campaign promises.
Speaking during the event, High Chief Tunde Oyetunji thanked the lawmaker for deeming it fit to consult leaders of the town over the coming gubernatorial poll. The Eesa of Ifon-Orolu Kingdom charged all inhabitants of the area to ensure the forthcoming election exercise is a peaceful and violence-free one. He appreciated the effort of Governor Oyetola, Rep Oyewo and other political office holders in bringing development to Osun.
Despite heavy downpour, the legislator covered several neighborhoods in Orolu and Irepodun to reach out to influential persons and drum support for the actualization of Governor Oyetola's second term bid.
