The House of Representatives member representing Osogbo/Olorunda/Irepodun/Orolu Federal Constituency in Osun State, Honourable Olubukola Oyewo, has commended Governor Gboyega Oyetola-led administration for counting it worthy to construct a four-legged intersection flyover at the popular Olaiya Junction of Osogbo, the state capital.
The federal lawmaker who is fondly called 'Bukoy' by his admirers, described the decision as a product of a very deep thinking and proactive approach to governance by Governor Oyetola who doesn't want to wait until the vehicular traffic situation in the area becomes utterly intractable.
Oyewo stated further that apart from easing out the traffic log jam at the Olaiya Junction in particular, its positive effects would also be felt in the other parts of the state capital.
It's also part of the observations of the federal lawmaker that the flyover would add to the aesthetic values of the state which will make it to be at par with the other developing and developed state capitals in the country.
He said, there could not be any good reason for those making disparaging comments on the project other than for ulterior and malicious motives which can neither sit nor fly. Such reactions are unfortunate and should be ignored.
"It doesn't take rocket science to observe and conclude that the planned construction of the flyover at the eye-brow Olaiya Junction of the state capital would significantly add value to the developmental architecture of the state.
"The project is indeed a product of visionary thinking in addition to its obvious aesthetic and economic benefits.
"It will not be an overstatement to observe and submit that in the next five years or thereabout, there is every possibility for Osogbo to become one of the largest state capitals in the country based on the rapidity of the development of its adjoining towns which are developing infrastructurally at a very fast rate.
"On the other hand, the likely fear of the opposition for attacking the project is the likelihood of their thought that it is a veritable legacy project for the re-election campaign of the Osun State deep-thinker-governor who has no time for frivolities.
"On behalf of the entire inhabitants of my constituency where the gigantic developmental project is domiciled, I am, through this medium, showing appreciation to Governor Oyetola and his team in their quest and zeal to make Osogbo one of the best developed state capitals in Nigeria", Oyewo stated.
