The Member representing Irepodun/Olorunda/Orolu/Osogbo Federal Constituency in the Green Chambers in Abuja, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo (Bukoy) has Congratulated the Ataoja of Osogbo, HRM Oba. Jimoh Olanipekun Larooye(III), the Chiefs and the People of Osogbo on the occasion of this year’s Osun Osogbo World Festival which commences this week.
Oyewo made this known via a statement made available to newsmen today in Osogbo.
He stated that the significance of the yearly festival to the socio-economic lives of Osogbo people can not be over-emphazised as it has a rich cultural background. He went on; “Congratulations to all the people of Osogbo and Osun deities on this annual celebration of Osun Osogbo Festival, which attracts adherents and admirers from all over the world. I wish the people of Osogbo success, wealth, and good relationships over the coming years.
“The spirit of the Osun Osogbo Festival is to make us get together, and it’s also a good time to relax and get some energy for the future endeavors. May the Osun Osogbo Fedtival bring you all prosperity, good fortune, and lots of happy moments. As always, Osun Osogbo helps traders, artisans and market women to generate more revenue during the festival with the presence of visitors from all over the world to witness the festival at the center of which is a world heritage site approved by the UNESCO.
"However, this year's celebration is understandably scaled down to minimize the mass gatherings and banters which characterize the occasion in normal times. This is attributable to the current global realities of the Covid-19 pandemic. I urge you all to be modest in Celebration and keep to terms with the Government regulations in curtailing the spread of the virus”.
“I strongly hope that this year's Osun Osogbo Festival will surely open up new horizons and make the dearest wishes of the people of Osogbo, Federal Constituency, Osun Central, State of Osun and Nigeria at large realizable”. He said
