Bukoy Calls for Unity, as APC Orolu Elders Forum Settles Differences

Towards straightening out wrinkles in the leadership tussle that has hitherto characterized the APC OROLU Elders Forum, the House of Representatives Member, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo yesterday met behind closed doors in Ifon-Osun with all warring factions with a view to putting an end to the seemingly unending rift.

It was gathered that after several meetings, which were held consecutively, the concerned party elders agreed to sheathe their respective swords and embrace peace in totality towards the progress of the party.

The meeting was attended by
Alhaji Kilani Orisawale, a foremost and respected leader of the party; Alhaji Rasheed Oyedele,  Former 2 terms Chairman of Orolu Local Government; Prince Adekunle Benson, Incumbent Chairman Orolu Local Government; Hon Kamil Oyedele, 3 Terms Former Member of the Osun State House of Assembly; Alhaji Gani Ibrahim, Chairman APC Orolu Local Government; Hon Bayo Oyegbemi, immediate past Chairman of Orolu Local Government; Hon Yemi Larinde, the first member of the House of Assembly of Ifon-Osun Extraction in the Old Oyo State; Arc Sola Adewoye, Secretary APC Orolu L.G.; and the convener of the meeting, Rep. Olubukola Oyewo (Bukoy)

After much deliberations in the meeting, Alhaji Kilani Orisawale was unanimously adopted as the Leader of the APC Orolu Elders Forum.

In his address, Rep. Olubukola Oyewo (Bukoy) said " The progress of APC Orolu is paramount to everyone present in this meeting and I am happy that after meeting several times we can finally say Orolu APC is One (United). We should all strive to abide by all the resolutions agreed on today and ensure our numerous followers also toe this line.

"This meeting was held with a view to having a common front and harmonious political atmosphere such that Orolu APC will be a vibrant and formidable partner; thus well positioned to benefit from dividends of democracy. This will also be a way of consolidating the progress witnessed by the State under the leadership of H.E Governor Gboyega Oyetola.

"We all are different; we always have, and always will be. Accommodation and reflections on differences of opinion are key ingredients of democracy. Rather than allowing these differences to be divisive, therefore we should harness the wisdom and strength in them and work together for the progress of our dear party particularly in our Local Government.

The lawmaker further said, "I would like to appreciate everyone present for their time, effort and commitment in ensuring that Peace and Unity prevails amongst all stakeholders in APC Orolu.

"Our leaders at the national level were very strategic when choosing the logo of our great party - The Broom, which stands for the strength in unity.

"As we all depart, let us ensure we are no longer separated in interest or divided in purpose. Let us continue to stand together so that we can work together and achieve success of the Elders Forum under the leadership of Alhaji Kilani Orisawale as endorsed today, the 3rd of July 2020.

"Once again, thank you for all sacrifices made to attend this meeting, and for working tirelessly towards achieving Peace and Unity in our dear party, APC Orolu.", he added
