Year 2022: Year Of Hope, Peaceful Coexistence – Rep Oyewo


The Member representing Irepodun/Olorunda/Orolu/Osogbo Federal Constituency of Osun State, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo, has called on Nigerians to see the year 2022 as a year of hope and peaceful coexistence with one another.



The lawmaker who is also the Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Water Resources made this known in a statement issued by his media office to celebrate the New year tagged “A Year of Hope”.


In his new year message, Oyewo said: “I want to use this medium to extend my greetings to Nigerians, the good people of Irepodun/Olorunda/Orolu/Osogbo Federal constituency as well as my party the All Progressives Congress (APC).


“I also want to appreciate the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, for their sacrificial service to the country and the state respectively, in the past years and in the New year,” he added.


The lawmaker also used the occasion to ask Nigerians to continue to pray for the progress and peaceful coexistence of a one united Nigeria, just as he reassure his Constituents of his unwavering commitment to continue to deliver dividends of democracy.


According to him, “the year 2022 has ushered in a new year and a new hope for a country blessed with her natural resources as I look forward to delivering more dividends of democracy promised during my campaign."


He said the nation needs to begin the year with prayers and supplications for more commitment and sustenance of achievements made in the previous years and in the New year.


“I call on all of us, particularly my constituents to continue to offer prayers for our nation and our leaders; and to be hopeful that the year 2022 will usher in more peace, as we continue to make laws that will improve the living condition of our people.


“I hereby wish Nigerians particular my constituents a peaceful and prosperous New Year as we continue to pray and support Mr President’s and Governor Oyetola's administration and policies towards the success of their administrations.”

Oyewo Felicitates with Constituents on Christmas

The Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Water Resources, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo, has called on all Christians in particular and Nigerians in general to use the occasion of the Christmas celebration to renew their faith in Jesus Christ. 


Oyewo also called on Nigerians to abide by all security and safety precautionary measures, particularly this festive period, against the rampaging COVID-19 global pandemic and insecurity in some parts of Nigeria. 



In a Christmas message to felicitates with his constituents and Nigeria Christendom on the occasion of 2021 Christmas, Hon. Oyewo said Christmas symbolizes the celebration of the birth of a new dawn for the salvation of souls for all humanity, especially for the Christian believers.  


The lawmaker stated this on Friday in a release made available to newsmen by his Media Office in Osogbo.


While acknowledging that the occasion indeed should be joyous with merry making, the Lawmaker calls for caution in such display of positive emotion in view of the prescribed precautionary measures to prevent and combat possibly, the fourth wave of COVID-19 pandemic with the Omicron variant.


According to him, in this season it is better to be safe and secure than be sorry. 


He noted that Nigerians in general are going through a difficult period compounded by the lingering COVID-19 pandemic with many losing their sources of incomes, adding however that there is every likelihood that 2022 will be better than this year as the world makes advances in vaccination and possible advancement in drugs for treatment of COVID-19 vaccine. 


“I urge all Nigerians to be patient and look forward to a better future. With abiding faith in Jesus Christ, all our challenges will be a thing of the past as we move to a new and hopefully a glorious new year” he stated.
