Oyewo congratulates new Chief of Air Staff, Osogbo-born AVM Amao

The Deputy Chairman House Committee on Water Resources, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo has congratulated Air-Vice Marshal Isiaka Oladayo Amao on his appointment as Nigeria's Chief of Air Staff (CAS) by President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, January 26.


In a statement sent to newsmen by his media office, in Osogbo, Oyewo said that the sacrifices of the new Air Chief towards peace and progress of the nation, especially his acknowledged gallantry at assignments, were outstanding.



He thanked President Buhari for appointing an illustrious son of Osogbo into the exalted position of CAS, and said that it was an elevated responsibility given to a deserving officer.


According to him, Amao, who hails from Osogbo in Osun, has the requisite experience for his new job having served in various key positions in the Nigerian Military.


Oyewo urged Amao to ensure that during his tenure in collaboration with other service Chiefs, Nigeria should record improvement in military-civil relations, adding that they should continue to uphold the territorial integrity of the nation.


He lauded the new CAS for the successes recorded at the many military formations where he served across the country, which according to him, contributed in strengthening Nigerian Air force's capacity for its constitutional role.

UNVEILING THE AMAZON OF BOLUWADURO LOCAL GOVERNMENT: ESTHER BOLUWAJI ALANI

Leadership they say is a daily job and not a day job, for Esther Boluwaji Alani it a commitment to a course of bettering the lives of her people.


Grew up in Otan-Ayegbaju in Boluwaduro Local Government, she attended NUD Primary School Otan-Ayegbaju, proceded to Anglican Grammar School Otan-Ayegbaju for her secondary education and finally Osun State Polytechnic Iree, for her tertiary education. 



Her political journey started in January 2008, when she was appointed as a member of a local government council from ward 3 in Otan-Ayegbaju. She was also appointed as a member of the caretaker committee of Otan Ayegbaju local government in 2018, and she is presently the serving member of the Local Government Council. Hon. Esther is also the Local Government Coordinator of Ilerioluwa vendors, an organization that is championing the cause of positive propagation of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.


While serving in the above mentioned political positions, she has made land mark achievement and impact positively in the lives of her constituent. Coupled with her role as a parliamentarian by her legislative duties, she has seen to the establishment of Nomadic Primary School in her ward and also constructed blocks of classrooms to the school. She has also facilitated the construction of public toilet facilities in different areas and markets within her ward.


Hon. Esther recently empowered many of her constituent – Youths, Women and the Aged, with distribution of various and empowerment materials like hairdressing machine and equipment, sewing machines, generators and many others. This she has done to complement the effort of the state government in her community and to enhance their living standard and better their lives. She also has numerous persons receiving monthly salary from her personal emolument.


Honorable Esther is a passionate community developer, a grass root politician, and an advocate for good governance. Her passion for all round development as geared her to aspire to the Office of Chairman of Boluwaduro Local Government. Her undying love and unquantifiable passion to the development of her people is a major push for her aspiration. 


Numerous programmes has been highlighted for implementation if appointed as the Chairman of Boluwaduro Local Government. Some of which are job opportunity for youth in Boluwaduro Local Government through skill accusation and information technology. Hon. Esther also planned to complement the effort of the federal and state government by domesticating the anchors borrowers’ scheme in her local government and also encourage the patronage of local agricultural producers and contractors. Part of her program is also to encourage the patronizing of tourist site or center in Boluwaduro Local Government.


Infrastructural development, security of lives and properties, interest-free loans to traders, facilitation of empowerment program through state and federal government grant and loans, educational advancement by assisting indigent students, health improvement programs through partnership and collaboration with the state government, and many others are topmost on her agenda.


Indeed, Esther is a committed community developer, unshakable amazon of hope, and a torch-bearer and beacon of goodwill to her entire community.

"Chief Akande is Visionary Leader, Reconciling Voice"- Oyewo Hails Chief Akande @ 82

The Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Water Resources, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo has congratulated elder statesman and founding Interim Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Abdukareem Adebisi Akande, as he turns 82 years on Jan. 16, 2021.


This congratulatory message is contained in a statement issued in Osogbo by his Media Office and made available to newsmen on Saturday.


Oyewo who represents Irepodun/Ọlọrunda/Orolu/Osogbo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, said he joined all members of the APC, friends and immediate family of the eminent leader in celebrating the birthday of Chief Akande.


The lawmaker noted with delight that Baba Akande was one of the pillars of the opposition party that had successfully ensured a round victory and smooth transition to unseat an incumbent president in 2015 and the subsequent victory in 2019.



According to him, Baba Akande’s wisdom, sacrifices, patriotism and commitment to the unity and development of Nigeria will always be remembered by posterity.


Oyewo affirmed that Chief Akande’s present role in the APC as a strong, visionary leader, a reconciling voice, strategist and stabiliser had paid up substantially in the enormous challenge of healing the ruling party, and the country.


The lawmaker extolled the passionate and relentless efforts of the statesman in ensuring the entrenchment of democracy in Nigeria, and sustenance of the rule of law.


He prayed that the almighty God would grant Chief Akande longer life, more strength and wisdom to continue serving the country he loves, and humanity.

"Osun has lost an iIlustrious Son", Says Oyewo, as he Commiserates Ataoja, Others

The Deputy Chairman House Committee on Water Resources, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo has commiserated with the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun (Larooye II), and all citizens of Osogbo over the death of Senator Bayo Salami.





He was the Senator representing Osun Central Senatorial District between 1999-2003


The elder statesman who is an illustrious son of Osogbo died on Thursday, 7th January, 2021.


Bukoy in his condolence messages issued on Friday, sympathised with the Ataoja of Osogbo, the State Government of Osun, the people of Osogbo and the families of the late Sen. Bayo Salami.


The lawmaker said; "I condole with Ataoja of Osogbo, His Royal Majesty Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun (Larooye II), all people of Osogbo, Immediate and extended family members, friends and associates of the deceased astute politician.


"His sudden and unfortunate death has robbed us of the services of a patriotic and hard-working community developer and social engineer", Oyewo said.


He urged the family and all associates to find comfort in prayers and acceptance of the will of God.


He prayed God to grant the souls of the deceased eternal rest and comfort his families and loved ones.
